Well someone aggroed a group of shadows, I didn't see what happened only seeing the griffon charging in to get these shadows. I put a heal on him but he was under 10% health left (I couldn't run fast enough to him) and we lost.
That's disappointment.

Hey, remember the guy who aggroed the griffons even though we had someone ELSE going for it? Oh wow, big disappointment there... here's the story.
Gareth and I were doing a FoW run with a rather good Ursan run, nice group. We got at Griffons, our last quest, in about 1 hour 15 minutes or so. Everyone is excited, it's an easy one...
Someone took the quest a bit too early for our tastes and we appointed someone staying back with them, an ursan. So the guy goes to the griffons and given we're out of their range, tries to get them away from us a bit more, in case of. And at the same time, one monk goes "I'll stay with the griffons!"... then comes back to us with 3 griffons following him/her...
Griffons get in melee range... "ugh gotta kill fast guys"...
One dies...
Spontaneous "NOOB" spike from the rest of the team as we all lay dead along with the griffons. I even think I deafened/surprised the folks who were on Vent with me 'cause I literally screamed "**** NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"...
When we loaded back in, the monk was gone. I didn't bother doing it again that day, and you bet that either me or a guildie stays with griffons now...
Oh and another one like this in UW HM. We decided to do Vengeful Aatxe quest last (we were discussing which way we were gonna use), someone took it a bit too early. Group was somewhat surprised, aggroed vengefuls by mistake, bye-bye labyrinth reaper... auto-log off for most of the group...
---
And how do I deal with stuff like that? I log off and do something else. Pretty much the only choice not to start blowing up at everyone.

Depends on the level of it. If it's a PvE thing, I don't really mind. Just laugh at it, tease whoever messed up, move on.
If it's PvP, and someone made a very low-level mistake, and the match was important, I'm putting on my rage pants.

Well, given that the mods close any topic that pops up about it, search doesnt work well, and thread necromancy is frowned upon, Ursan will keep popping up in new threads or in random places. I dont understand why they dont simply keep one open and then close the others, or just make a sticky about it and let people vent there. It'd at least keep it all in one place.
Back on topic: just laugh, brush it off and go do it again. That's how I've always handled something like that.

If a big disappointment occurs in PvE, I usually go emo and wont play that character/that area/the game for a period of time. Before that though, I'll check to make sure if I accounted for everything I was planning to face and change my build if needed.
If something like that happens in PvP (I guess halls is what you asked in OP?) then there's usually a couple of options.
1) If your team and build was good but you just lost due to something you didn't forsee (error, lag, etc), and multiple people don't have to leave, then go back in.
2) If you have a bad build or are missing a specific counter, see if you can integrate it in. If you're running a 1-dimensional build and were just countered, say RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it and go back in hoping to beat that team on another map type.
3) If you have bad players leading the team or in the team, if you forsee that the team isn't going anywhere, or if playing just isn't fun with these guys, ragequit the team. You're better off with another group then anyway.

I've had this problem on my Assassin AND Ritualist in Factions.
It's always in one of these same missions too;
Zen Daijun. (Generally, nobody knows what they're doing. I end up soloing the mission while they run around ressing eachother and killing literally ALL the afflicted.)
Vizunah Square (either quarter.)
I literally PRAY for the AI team, thats how bad it's gotten.
It's not too much of a hassle, really. I wait a few minutes and either do it myself. It's never taken long for the right mix of Hench to do either.

99% of my playing time is PvE and I react to disappointment in several ways. Say I'm in the mood for some questing and I fail 2 or 3 times on said quest, I'll usually just switch over to my farming build and go farm for a while. But say while on my farming run I get distracted for whatever reason and I die (repeatedly) I'll switch to the never fail, easier than pie farm run. Switch from my Necro to my Monk and farm some nice easy undead. If I fail at that too I'll usually just turn the game off and go play Call of Duty 4 or some other 1st person shooter. If that fails too, I can always look at some kitteh pictures.
or
(c'mon, what's funnier than mixing a kitteh pic with Monty Python humor?)

all I have to say is I've had worse, like a disconnecting party when there was no reconnects.
There's always a "could be worse" scenario for anything.

Depends. I had my survivor monk that got to (2) by playing game with pugs (terrible pugs might i say). Shortly after reaching (2) i decided i am finally confident enough to play with guildies and went to do last prophecies mission. Our guild leader persuaded us to take one pug person abroad. what happened that that pugger had no idea what is going on and pulled horde of titan imps. after we passed first bridge. Despite prot spirit, reversal and quick kite and all that, 8 mind burns spiked me down.
That was pretty disheartening, and about my biggest failure when i take into account time and lots of physical/psychical discomfort i went thought to get survivor at that point. Just got ressed and finished mission with a bit of bitter aftertaste and took weeks break and didn't really play that character again nor did i reroll her. Thou i still want Pugged-survivor (3) char.
Group wipes are usually okay, if you had fun as fun is what matters. And even welcome if you don't have fun (bad chemistry in group, you gotta hope for wipe if you are type who does not ragequit.)

My creed for that happening was: "Hey, more drop for rest of us!"
IMO, it saved a lot of groups from snowballing ragequits.

Tre, but a little drive doesn' t hurt. If playing games does absolutely nothing with me the game is most likely boring

Strangely enough PvP doen't piss me off, because players don't do 500+ damage in one hit. It sounds 'fairer' in a way

Why we would just respawn? Right? RIGHT?!?!?
I like it better when we wipe and Rob goes on a rage. Rob in a rage is epic lulz. Especially after he GvG's and loses. Good fun.

I got fairly angry when I once lost to Duncan the Black in HM cause I did not prepare at all for him... Even lost a full set of consumables on him I believe... Of course his victory was of short duration, but I never been so annoyed before while playing GW. (H/H ed all the way, bit of a bummer to fail so late on)

Several folks have eluded to it and I'm the same way. It really depends on the time invested. If I've spent 1+ hrs trying to accomplish something and fail, that usually results in taking a break. Generally no hard feelings, just a motivation killer.
